Winston Fisher Seminar accepting spring applications

Students at Fisher Seminar

The Winston Fisher Seminar is a chance to network with top executives and see how a liberal arts degree can translate to a rewarding business  career.  The seminar is sponsored by Winston  Fisher  ‘96, a philosophy major and now partner of Fisher Brothers real estate  firm.  It is open to all Arts and Sciences students with expected graduation dates between May 2019 and May 2021.

Students selected for the program will travel to New York City over spring break with a select group of peers for six days/five nights.  Students selected will  present a business plan to a panel of friendly judges (for a $500 prize), and return with a broader perspective on potential careers.

Seminar requirements:

  • three on-campus mandatory classes
  • required readings
  • case study analysis
  • written response papers
  • development/presentation of a business plan

Students will be eligible to earn one credit hour (pass/fail) upon completion of all course requirements.

Application deadline is January 29, 2019.  For more information, contact Kristen Aust at Kraust@syr.edu or 315.443.1447.  Arts and Sciences sophomores, juniors, and seniors with expected graduation dates between May 2019 to May 2021 should apply via Handshake.
