Syracuse University startup Promptous will be featured at a free Tech Garden event on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event will showcase their venture, which is preparing to launch their beta product and engage with small and medium-sized businesses who are curious about self-funded employee dental benefits, and want to save time and money. Promptous is an up and coming self-funding option that cuts out the middle-man, and thus headache, of insurance providers. The disruptive software solution addresses major issues currently found in the dental insurance industry.  The company launched at Syracuse University in the spring of 2018, originally as and iSchool blockchain management class.  Working with the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars, the company incorporated in the fall of 2018, and has continued to grow and scale, with support of ecosystem partners.  Promptous is the recipient of a $25,000 “Grant for Growth” through CenterState CEO, and received seed funding as students through ‘Cuse Tank and the iPrize,   Founded by Josh Jackson, the team now includes 11 members, all of which are Syracuse University grad students and alumni. Promptous is incubating at The Tech Garden, located at 235 Harrison Street in downtown Syracuse, and is still actively engaged with the LaunchPad at SU Libraries.
