Shibani and Vipul Jain featured at November 12 Global Design Studio as part of GEW

Global Entrepreneurship Week at Syracuse University will feature a Global Design Studio with two influential designers and impact entrepreneurs.  Join us in the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars at SU Libraries for two studio-style Fireside Chats with Shibani and Vipul Jain from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12.   Vipul Jain, partner at Baaya Design, and co-founder and president of Catalysts for Social Action, and serial entrepreneur, will speak at 4 p.m., and Shibani Jain, founder and CEO of Baaya Design, and founder of India’s first e-commerce platform for craft products, as well as co-founder and trustee of Catalysts for Social Action, will speak at 5 p.m.  Both events are open to the community.

About Vipul Jain, 4 p.m. Fireside Chat:

Vipul Jain is a Partner at Baaya Design. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology- Kanpur (IIT-K), and Indian Institute of Management -Ahmedabad (IIM-A). He is Co-founder and ex-CEO of Accelya Kale Solutions Limited (formerly known as Kale Consultants). Recently, Vipul has started many interesting projects, including another technology company – Kale Logistics Private Limited, one of India’s first private nature reserves – the Jabarkhet Nature Reserve in Mussoorie, and an organic farming enterprise – Ona Organics. Vipul is the Co-Founder and President of Catalysts for Social Action, an NGO that works for the cause of children in need of care and protection.

About Shibani Jain:

Shibani Jain is the Founder and CEO of Baaya Design. An alumna of the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, Shibani started her career with Tata Interactive Systems as the head of design. As an entrepreneur, she founded India’s first e-commerce platform for craft products. A need to widen the horizon for craft application in India led her to found Baaya Design. Baaya has a mission to rejuvenate Indian traditional art and craft by innovating and creating contemporary products for architecture and interior design. With the iconic Baaya store in Raghuvanshi Mills, and a design studio catering to project and custom requirements, the Baaya brand has become synonymous with well-crafted home decor solutions. Shibani is also the Founder and Trustee of Catalysts for Social Action, an NGO that works for the cause of children in need of care and protection.
