Workshops will take place every Wednesday evening starting March 20th to April 20th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the LaunchPad in Bird Library. Each workshop will feature a guest speaker who has experience with building side hustles, a collaborative discussion with participants, and time to apply gained knowledge to your hustle.
At the end of the five-workshop series, attendees will set up their businesses at a pop-up market and sell their products for a day. A people’s choice poll help select best set up and presentation displays, products, and business platform. The top four “hustlers” will be rewarded micro-grants to further fund their hustle.
The series is being created and hosted by Bender ’24 a major in Citizenship and Civic Engagement and Policy Studies at Maxwell. She believes in supporting small businesses and feels that these kinds of skills can help others build their businesses. From a policy standpoint, the goal of this is to help creatives – particularly women — to understand and achieve their self-worth.
