Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management is offering an exciting new course, EEE 600, M002 – Entrepreneurial Deal Making, in New York City (NYC) during winter break. The course, taught by Professor of Entrepreneurial Practice John Torrens of the Whitman School, is designed for experienced or aspiring managers who want to learn about making deals. The course will run Jan. 7-11 and is open to Whitman School graduate students. Registration is limited.
Entrepreneurs are required to engage in deal making on a regular basis. Using the high energy entrepreneurial ecosystem in NYC as a backdrop, students in the course will learn about the spectrum of deals struck by entrepreneurs over the course of a company’s life. The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge, tools, skills, and confidence to engage in entrepreneurial deal making as a way to build a foundation for the future of a business. The hands-on and interactive course will utilize a variety of teaching formats, including case study discussions, guest lectures by prominent alumni or other business leaders in NYC, site visits to alumni companies, practice negotiations and more.
