Three Syracuse University students are interning this semester at the LaunchPad, putting their skills in information management, data analysis, and marketing and social media to work to support student entrepreneurship.

Sukhmeet Singh Mata is pursuing a M.S. degree in Information Management, and serving as the LaunchPad’s data analyst and Technology Business Consultant Intern.  He formerly worked as a data and web analyst with Syracuse University’s School of Architecture Library, and is now the chief developer behind the LaunchPad’s new website.  He is a research member of NEXIS at the iSchool, and has a deep passion for developing technical solutions to business problems.  He is an expert in data analysis, programming and online development, and data visualization.

Christian Medina ‘19 is bringing his digital design skills to the LaunchPad, and is the creator of the popular new weekly “Startup Thinking” LaunchPad e-newsletter.  An information studies major, he is currently working on new social media tools to reach SU entrepreneurs including Snapchat Geofilters, and has been creating promotional materials for LaunchPad events. He’s also contributed design work to TEDX Syracuse University.

Megan Swanson ’17 is the communications and social media intern for the LaunchPad, building on her interests after participating in the iSchool Spring Break in Silicon Valley, and as a project manager for It Girls Alumnae.  A Newhouse public communications major, she had previously interned as a social media marketing intern at a branding company founded by SU alum Shani Griffith, who is an expert on how to engage with a diverse audience on-line.  As a LaunchPad intern, she’s been working on digital marketing and manages the LaunchPad’s Twitter feed.  You can follow it @LaunchPadSYR.
