There are still a few remaining slots for Venture Acceleration EEE490, offered as a three-credit independent study class this semester at the Blackstone LaunchPad in Bird Library.  A full course description, along with course expectations is here:  https://launchpad.syr.edu/keep-your-startup-thinking-going-this-semester-with-an-independent-study-course-eee490/

Students will meet individually with the instructor for weekly milestone setting and milestone reviews — similar to an accelerator program.  There are no group meetings or formal syllabus.  Students will be expected to spend up to six hours a week (in addition to the weekly milestone meetings) working independently on their venture, conducting customer discovery, primary and secondary research, and working on milestones to become “Investment Ready,” as outlined in the Blackstone LaunchPad Toolkit.  Progress will be assessed against a self-assessment checklist at the conclusion of the course, as well as the quality of deliverables, number of milestones achieved, and self-initiative and self-direction.  This course is for serious entrepreneurs looking to launch ventures, apply to an accelerator program or work with accredited investors, and close first sales.  The instructor is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the LaunchPad for additional consultation.  The LaunchPad also manages a large network of mentors and professional service advisors who are available in the LaunchPad for on-going consultation.  It is up to the student to avail themselves of these resources as part of the course.

If interested, this is the last week to apply.  Permission of the instructor, academic advisor, and EEE department chair is required.  E-mail:  LaunchPad@syr.edu
