Hack Upstate this weekend

Hack Upstate XI is the eleventh installment in a series of weekend hackathons (open to students and practitioners) that happens twice a year (i.e. Fall & Spring) where developers, problem solvers, and designers from Upstate NY come to Syracuse, NY, share ideas, form teams and build incredible projects. Oh btw, it’s FREE!



SATURDAY April 14th

  • 11:00am — Doors open
  • 12:00pm — 12:45pm — Introductions and kickoff
  • 12:45pm — 1:15pm — Kickoff Ends, pitching project ideas
  • 1:15pm — Form teams, begin hacking
  • 2:00pm — Lunch
  • 2:15pm — 3:00pm — ITX breakout session and panel discussion
  • 7:00pm — Dinner
  • 9:00pm — Lots of Coffee Arrives

SUNDAY April 15th

  • 9:00am — Breakfast and coffee
  • 11:45am — Cease hacking & submit projects
  • 12pm — 12:30 pm — Demo Intro, Welcome Judges
  • 12:30pm — Demos and project presentations
  • 1:30 pm— 1:45pm — Judge Deliberation
  • 2:00pm — Awards

FOOD — We’ll be feeding you lunch & dinner on Saturday, and a light breakfast on Sunday.

RULES — No code can be written until after the opening ceremony on April 14th. All hackers abide by the Hack Upstate Code of Conduct. Please read it here. 

PARKING — We recommend parking at the Harrison/Warren Street Parking Garage ($5 daily or $15 overnight), or the Hotel Syracuse Parking Garage ($5 per day, $10 overnight). Additional parking options can be found here.

Hack Upstate’s mission is to unite and facilitate collaboration among the greater Upstate New York technology community. In pursuit, we organize hackathons, offer web and mobile development classes, facilitate talks and lectures, and ultimately help align Upstate tech talent with promising employment opportunities. To date, we’ve built a growing network comprised of thousands of Upstate New York engineers and nearly a hundred technology employers.
