Fireside chat with Adam and Amy Fazackerley, founders of Lay-n-Go

Adam and Amy Fazackerley At 4 p.m. Thursday November 29, the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars in Bird Library will be be welcoming two entrepreneurs for a Fireside Chat. Adam and Amy Fazackerley, co-founders of Lay-n-Go will talk about their company that designs products to solve everyday family and personal organization issues. To date, they have been awarded two U.S. utility patents, and distribute their products to leading retail companies domestically and internationally.  They serve on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council.

Adam, a ‘96 graduate of the Martin J Whitman School of Management, started his career at UUNET Technologies.  He went on to found concept2creations, LLC, a corporate design company focused on building brands and producing every aspect of their digital / print marketing strategies.  He worked as an Associate with Osborn Capital and later went on to co-found Fortify.vc.  Both firms were focused on early-stage technology fund investing in Mid-Atlantic, Silicon Valley, and talent-rich technology markets.  Amy graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Denison University and a M.B.A degree from Johns Hopkins University. She started her career as the Marketing Director for Digital Paper Corporation, a privately held software company based in Alexandria, VA. She went on to work for Episcopal High School as Director of Special Gifts where she executed strategic multi-million dollar fundraising programs to build the Ainslie Arts Center and Baker Science Center. In 2010, the two founded Lay-n-Go, LLC.

Amy and Adam discovered there was no solution on the market that allowed their three children to play for hours and cleanup in seconds. As Adam kept buying more LEGO® sets, Amy looked everywhere for a smarter organizational solution. She wanted something that made cleanup easy, contained the small pieces, could be used on the go, and was machine washable. There was no solution on the market that did all of these things, so they spent the next year designing, testing, re-engineering, sourcing, and producing what would become Lay-n-Go’s first product (the 60″ play mat).

Since developing their original product, Lay-n-Go has released the COSMO collection, the men’s TRAVELER, the LIFESTYLE & CINCH backpacks, the tech accessory WIRED solution and the DOG BED. These expanding product lines reinforced Lay-n-Go’s commitment to developing innovative organizational solutions for the entire family.

The fireside chat at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 29 in the LaunchPad is open to the community.
