“Fall Call” applications are officially open for three innovation and entrepreneurship campus competitions coordinated by the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars.

The first application deadline is October 15.

This year, for the first time, we are using a new common app for:

  • ‘Cuse Tank (Application deadline, October 15, 2018; Competition, October 26, 2018)
  • Impact Prize (Application deadline, November 2, 2018; Competition, November 13, 2018)
  • ACC InVenture Prize (Application deadline, February 8, 2019; Competition, February 22, 2019)

Open links above for detailed information about each competition.

All three competitions are open to undergraduate and graduate students at Syracuse University, as well as SUNY ESF students who study entrepreneurship at SU.

Students must upload a one-page executive summary and answer questions about their concept and business model.

Pitch assistance is available through the Blackstone LaunchPad, Couri Hatchery, and other campus resource partners, as well as a peer-mentoring network of Blackstone LaunchPad Global Fellows.  Experts are available for “drop-in” appointments to help with a variety of subject matters – from industry and market research, to creating a pro forma, legal incorporation, IP landscaping, marketing and social media, tech and product development, and more.  Check dates in the weekly “Startup Thinking” newsletter

Students are also invited to reserve their spot for ‘Cuse Market — the Blackstone LaunchPad’s popular “pop-up” shop and “demo alley” on Friday, October 26 from 2- 4 p.m. in the Learning Commons, first floor of Bird Library.

The event is a featured part of Family Weekend, offering students and faculty the opportunity to show and sell their work to an even larger audience of “Orange families” from around the country and around the globe.

Syracuse innovators are invited to display their creative work, whether it is a product, service or technology – from health and wellness products to artisan goods, packaged foods, fashion and apparel, jewelry, furniture, 3D printed items, industrial designs and gadgets, hardware and electronics, and innovative digital platforms.

The event is also open to creatives such as musicians, photographers, artists, filmmakers, graphic designers, sound and lighting engineers, who are interested in showcasing their services.  Web developers, creators of new mobile apps, software platforms or unique online products or services are also invited to participate.

This is a chance for Syracuse innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs to shine the spotlight on their big ideas.   Set up a laptop to demo a technology or service, bring prototypes of products under development, or a display of actual wares.  Be sure to bring along marketing materials, including business cards, brochures, poster displays, signage, or other visuals that will help capture attention.

Student clubs like Enactus are also welcome to table.
