Congratulations to Whitman’s Orange Tank winners

Congratulations to Bruno Gonzalez Hauger ’21 G ’22 who took home the top $25,000 prize at the recent Martin J. Whitman School of Management’s Orange Tank which was open to Whitman students and alumni.  The total $42,000 prize package was allocated to the top Whitman teams in both student and alumni divisions. 

Winners included:

Student Teams:

  • $25,0000 — Ambassadoor – Bruno Gonzalez Hauger ’21 and G’22
  • $5,000 — MUNCH Jerky – Selim Dangoor ’23
  • $2,500 — O2W Sports – Jack Adler ’23 and Sam Holland ’23
  • First alternate:  Athletify  — Season Chowdhury ‘23

All four are Syracuse University Blackstone LaunchPad teams.  Gonzalez Hauger, Dangoor, Adler, Holland and Chowdhury are also LaunchPad student employees who serve as peer mentors and subject matter experts.

Alumni Teams:

  • First Place — Joe 2.0 Coffee – Brian Mellin ’15
  • Second Place — Vees – Victoria Vasil ’97 (NEW), ’20 MBA, ’21 M.S. and M.S.
  • Third Place — Aphinity – Sardor Askarov ’20

Aphinity is a Syracuse University Blackstone LaunchPad team.

The judges for this year’s competition were:

  • Ryan Benz ’11 M.S., Syracuse based developer, restauranteur and investor
  • Steven Bettinger ’93, Entrepreneur in real estate, technology, insurance, finance, and consumer products
  • Nathaniel Cotanch ’12, Founder, Zia Hatch Chile Company
  • Molly Fisher ’08, ’13 M.S., VP of finance and operations, DIG, an East Coast restaurant chain
  • Scott Friedberg ’14, Founder, Gilded Social

This event brings Ambassadoor’s total competition wins to $75,000, making him the top campus prize winner after all-time champion Josh Aviv ’15 G’17, founder of SparkCharge, who won the $100,000 student grand prize in the New York Business Plan Competition.
