Thrive at SU is a registered student organization that works to bridge the gap between the SU student body and the local Syracuse community. The organization collaborates with local nonprofits that serve marginalized communities here in the city. Thrive at SU is dedicated to rallying for organizations that support the people of Syracuse.
Each year, Thrive at SU partners with a nonprofit to introduce volunteering and internship opportunities to students on campus while raising awareness for the organization’s mission and work. Thrive Talks will serve as a platform for the nonprofit, the communities the nonprofit serves and the SU community to come together and celebrate each other. This year, Thrive at SU is working with InterFaith Works and their Center for New Americans.
InterFaith Works’ Center for New Americans provides resettlement and post-resettlement services to help refugee families reestablish their lives and overcome the barriers to successful integration in their new communities. Thrive at SU is proud to work with fellow student organizations to further the objective of collaborating with incredible, local nonprofits in Syracuse like this one. Social entrepreneurship club ENACTUS, philanthropy fraternity APO and College Democrats of SU amongst other clubs will be in attendance.
Thrive Talks will be hosted and facilitated by Amanda Chou, president of Thrive at SU. “I hope students will like this intimate conversation with some of the most incredible leaders who represent the diversity of this city,” Chou says.
