Syracuse Students – apply for a SXSW events internship opportunity

South by Southwest, hosted each spring in Austin, Texas, celebrates the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture. SXSW 2023 is offering entrepreneurial Syracuse students the opportunity to apply for a SXSW Startup Events Internship. Students will conduct research and work on related projects for SXSW’s premiere startup pitch event. All internship work will be done remotely, from anywhere in the country, from September through March. Interns who are accepted and stay with the program will receive a badge to attend SXSW 2023.  Students are responsible for their own travel and housing costs if they choose to attend.

SXSW is seeking part-time (10 hrs/week) online startup researchers who can unearth various sources of information related, but not limited to, startup companies, Incubators/Accelerators and the VC/Angel technology investor industry. Tasks may include sourcing contact information for a founder database, researching emerging startups in a specific field, and providing your opinion on groups of startups. The researcher must also be able to source all work found and incorporate the information into a comprehensive document for the event producer.

Interns must be current university students from beginning of internship through to the event. All work will be done remotely with interns expected to attend one weekly call. Qualified candidates must be able to demonstrate online research skills, have strong organizational skills, and be highly self-motivated and extremely detailed oriented. Curiosity and a passion for technology, startups, or business is a plus. Knowledge and familiarity with Google Docs & Sheets is required. Priority will be given to students who demonstrate a strong passion for entrepreneurship or events.

If you are interested in applying, please submit a resume and cover letter for consideration to Savannah Blomquist at savannah@adeointeractive.com. The subject line should read: Startup Event Researcher- [your name].

Your cover letter should explain your passion for entrepreneurship and/or events, where it came from, and your favorite startup from a previous SXSW Pitch competition.
