Need new pieces in your closet? Look no further than Popcycle, a student startup by Ben Goldsmith, CEO, ’21 VPA CRS and Jackson Ensley, CMO ’22 Whitman.  Popcycle curates the best start-up brands into one retail pop-up, and brings exclusive clothing by student designers to campus. Each month the team will pop up in a different spot on campus with new collections from brands that aren’t yet in stores.  Popcycle is curating unique, one-of-a-kind fashions by student designers and local designers that can’t be found anywhere else.  It is a chance to get a first look at emerging designers before they become household names.  The event is not a traditional pop-up.  It will be a full-on retail experience that includes try-ons, immersive browsing and “retail therapy” featuring young, fun fashions that pop.

Don’t miss this unique and fun event, Friday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars in Bird Library.   The event is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week at Syracuse.

Goldsmith and Ensley started this venture because they saw so many young creatives on campus producing incredible quality products, but having a hard time getting discovered.  “We want to commercialize the clothing pop up,” says Ensley. “We give young and hungry brands the chance to experience the retail world in a way that they can’t with a big retail store as a startup.  This creates a venue for them to pop out clothing brands in a scalable way.  There are so many young designers on campuses across the country, and our goal is to scale this to other campuses.”

“Popcycle gives brands real retail experience,” adds Ensley. “If you’re an emerging brand, contact Popcycle and get involved.”
