Join us for an interactive workshop, “Research, Prototyping and Piloting to Test: Reframing the Challenge”
Heather Reavey ’99, VPA Industrial and Interaction Design, head of practice innovation at EPAM Continuum, thinks about where innovation is going. For nearly 20 years she has been shaping people, practices, and processes to be there first.
She has dedicated her career to innovation—doing it, leading it, and teaching it. She began as an Envisioner, focused on designing human-centered strategies and demystifying complexity through storytelling that helps catalyze organizations to take action. Over her career, Reavey has led teams and helped launch game-changing ideas and strategies for Procter & Gamble, Insulet, American Express, United Healthcare, and BBVA.
As a design educator, she has taught strategy and design at Syracuse University, Harvard Business School, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
She will be sharing that expertise with Syracuse University innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs at a workshop at the Blackstone LaunchPad in Bird Library on Friday, September 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A light lunch will be served.
The interactive session will begin with brief remarks by Reavey, followed by team exercises, and feedback with Professor Don Carr, IDSA, Program Coordinator, MFA in Design and SyracuseCoE Faculty Fellow. The workshop is open to all Syracuse faculty and students — especially those interested in the process of research, prototyping and piloting. Reservations are not required, but are helpful for planning.
